Después de un verano que no se acababa nunca en el sudeste asiático, queríamos pasar las navidades en un sitio más invernal.

De resultas hemos acabado en Darjeeling, a 2135 metros de altitud. Aunque hace más frío del que esperábamos, estar en los Himalayas tiene sus ventajas. Las vistas con espectaculares, con el Khangchendzonga dominando el paisaje (es lo que tiene ser la tercera montaña más alta del mundo).
Como en la India son las vacaciones de invierno, el ambiente es muy relajado, y se han molestado en decorar las calles y los restaurantes con un toque navideño.
Ah, y también está el té.

After a summer that seemed to never end in South East Asia, we wanted to spend Christmas in a more winter-like place.
We've then ended up in Darjeeling, 2135 metres above the sea level. Even if it's colder than we thought, being in the Himalayas has its advantages. The views are amazing, with the Khangchendzonga crowning the skyline (it happens with the third highest mountain in the world).
Because in India they have now the winter holidays, the ambience is very laid back, and they have taken their time to decorate the streets and the restaurants with a Christmas touch.
Oh, and there is also tea.
