Sunderbans Tiger Reserve II

La mañana del segundo día nos levantamos con excesiva motivación y subimos al Tiger Boat donde nos dieron de desayunar.

Empezamos nuestro crucero por el delta de manglares sobre las siete dejándonos los ojos con cada piedra. Enseguida vimos muchos pájaros de colores, principalmente martines pescadores y garzas.

Lo primero realmente grande e impresionante que vimos fue un cocodrilo tomando el sol. Luego vinieron muchos más y los vimos serpentear por la orilla y desaparecer en el agua.

Al final de la mañana hubo un gran revuelo en el barco: el guía había visto pisadas frescas de tigre. Sin embargo el animal era tímido y no quiso posar para nosotr@s.

También vimos jabalíes como Pumba, monos, ciervos, varanos (lagartos) y cangrejos rojos, azules y amarillos.

Volvimos a comer algo decepcionad@s pero con la ilusión de ver tigres al día siguiente.

Por la tarde nos llevaron al pueblo de al lado a dar un bonito paseo y después presenciamos un baile local que pronto nos dio dolor de cabeza.

El último día nos levantamos todavía más pronto y a las seis y media ya estábamos desayunando en el barco. Esperamos con avidez que apareciera algún tigre pero no hubo suerte.

Comimos y emprendimos el regreso a Calcuta muy content@s con la experiencia de navegar por un paisaje tan bonito y ver cocodrilos salvajes. Aunque es casi imposible ver tigres el viaje es más que recomendable.

The second's day morning we woke up excessively motivated and boarded the Tiger Boat where they gave us breakfast.

We started our cruise on the mangrove delta around seven looking closely at every stone. Soon we started seeing lots of colourful birds, mainly kingfishers and egrets.

The first big and impressive thing we saw was a crocodrile sunbathing. After, more of them showed up and we saw them slither on the shore and disappear in the water.

At the end of the morning there was a big agitation in the boat: the guide had seen fresh tiger foot marks. However the animal was a bit shy and didn't want to pose for us.

We also spotted wild boars like Pumba, monkeys, deers, monitor lizards and red, blue and yellow crabs.

We came back to the hotel to have lunch a little bit disappointed but hoping to see tigers the day after.

In the afternoon we went walking to the nearby village and later we attended a folk dance which soon gave us a headache.

On the last day we woke up even earlier and at half past six we were already having breakfast in the boat. We waite avidly to see a tiger but we weren't  lucky.

We ate and we headed back to Kolkata very happy with the experience of saling through such a nice landscape and seeing wild crocodiles. Even if it is next to impossible to see tigers, the trip is highly recommended.
