Esta es la última entrega de la saga del camino de Buda (de momento); otro de los cuatro lugares más sagrados del budismo: Sarnath.
Después de alcanzar la iluminación bajo el árbol Bodhi en Bodhgaya, Buda se trasladó a Sarnath (a las afueras de Varanasi), al Parque de los Ciervos, a dar su primer discurso.
El emperador Ashoka, un forofo del budismo, hizo construir en el lugar exacto una estupa gigantesca, y quedan alrededor restos de antiguos monasterios. Más que un parque con ciervos, hoy en día tiene ardillas, muchas ardillas.
En el museo arqueológico de Sarnath se encuentran los leones que coronaban el Pilar de Ashoka y son ahora el símbolo nacional (salen hasta en los billetes).

This is the last episode of the series "following the steps of the Buddha" (for the time being); one of the four most sacred places of Buddhism: Sarnath.
After reaching enlightment under the Bodhi tree in Bodhgaya, Buddha moved to Sarnath (on the outskirts of Varanasi), to the Deer Park, where he delivered his first discourse.
The emperor Ashoka, a great supporter of Buddhism ordered to build a gigantic stupa in the exact place, and on the surroundings remain the ruins of ancient monasteries. Rather than a deer park, nowadays it's a squirrel park, with many many squirrels.
In the archeological museum of Sarnath you can find the lions that used to crown Ashoka's Pillar, and are today the National symbol (they even figure in the banknotes).
