Sunderbans Tiger Reserve I

Desde Calcuta es posible visitar la reserva de tigres de los Sunderbans, el bosque de manglares más grande del mundo con una de las concetraciones más altas de tigres de bengala.

Después de ver macacos, orangutanes, búfalos de agua y peces de todos los colores nos moríamos de ganas por ver tigres, cocodrilos y delfines del Irrawady.

Contratamos un todo incluido de tres días y dos noches en el Sunderban Tiger Camp. Salimos de Calcuta a las ocho de la mañana en el TIger Bus, un autobús muy cómodo en el que repartieron sandwiches, frutos secos, agua, café y te. Ahí conocimos a Martin y Martin, una pareja de austriacos con los que nos hemos divertido mucho.

Tres horas y media más tarde llegamos al final de la tierra firme y embarcamos en el Tiger Boat. Otra vez nos dieron te, café y galletitas.

Solamente éramos nueve personas, y junt@s empezamos a disfrutar de los placeres del todo incluido.

El paseo en barco se nos hizo largo porque duró hora y media y ya tocaba comer.

Habíamos elegido la opción de alojamiento más barata (una cabaña para cuatro personas), pero al haber tan poca gente estuvimos sol@s.

Dejamos las cosas y corrimos hacia el buffet libre: el paraíso.

Nos dejaron un ratito para hacer la digestión y luego nos llevaron de vuelta al barco para ver el atardecer.

Por la tarde nos dieron una merienda típica bengalí mientras veíamos un pésimo documental sin ningún rigor científico.

Y luego volvimos a comer. Tras la cena llegó el vicio: Martin y Martin nos enseñaron el mejor juego de mesa del mundo, Brandi Dog.

El maldito juego

Pasadas las cervezas y las risas nos fuimos a la cama soñando con tigres de bengala.

From Kolkata it is possible to visit the Sunderban Tiger Reserve, the biggest mangrove forest in the world with one of the highest concentrations of Bengal tigers.

After seeing macaques, orangutans, water buffaloes and fishes with any imaginable colour, we were dying to see tigers, crocodriles and Irrawady dolphins.

We booked an all inclusive tour for two nights and three days in the Sunderban Tiger Camp. We left Kolkata at eight in the morning in the Tiger Bus, a very comfortable bus in which they gave out sandwiches, snacks, water, coffee and tea. There we met Martin and Martin, an Austrian couple with whom we've had lots of fun.

Three hours later we arrived at the end of firm land, and we boarded the Tiger Boat. Again, they gave us tea, coffee and small biscuits

We were only nine people, and together we started to enjoy the pleasures of all inclusive tours.

The boat trip ended up being a bit too long because it lasted one and a half hours and we were hungry.

We had chosen the cheapest accomodation option (a tent for four people), but because there were so few people that we were alone.

We left our stuff and we ran towards the buffet: paradise.

They allowed us to rest for a while and they took us for another trip in the boat to see the sunset.

In the evening they gave us a typical Bengali snack while we watched an awful documentary without any scientific rigor.

And then we came back to eat. After the dinnner, the vice came: Martin and Martin showed us the best table game in the world: Brandi Dog.

After the laughs and the beers we went to bed dreaming with Bengal tigers.
