Luang Prabang

Después de estar en China, llegar a Laos ha sido lo mejor que nos podía pasar. Hemos pasado de la masa, el ruido, y el caos, a la soledad, el silencio, y la tranquilidad. En Laos apenas viven siete millones de personas, y son todas muy relajadas. Las ciudades son más bien pueblos grandes con muy poco tráfico, casas bajas, y poca gente.

A orillas del Mekong, Luang Prabang tiene mucho que ofrecer. Cruceros por el río, bellos templos, un mercado nocturno y excursiones por los alrededores.

Lo que más disfrutamos fue el paseo en barco al atardecer en un barco típico. Los templos, que son Patrimonio de la Humanidad (UNESCO), son muy peculiares, y también visitamos con gusto el palacio-museo.

El mercado nocturno es una trampa mortal: mil cosas bonitas a precios ridículos. Además, es posible pasear sin el agobio de vendedorxs estresantes (aquí te saludan y te dejan mirar).

Para hacerlo todavía mejor, en la ciudad hay numerosas opciones de alojamiento con una excelente relación calidad-precio. Nosotrxs cogimos una habitación nueva de veinte metros cuadrados con aire acondicionado y agua caliente por 10€ la noche.

A lo mejor no suena tan fascinante como realmente es, pero resulta que llevamos algo de retraso en el blog con esto de que internet no crece en los arrozales, y ardemos en deseos de contaros nuestras andanzas sobre ruedas.

Luang Prabang es muy chulo.

After being in China, getting to Laos has been as good as it gets. We’ve gone from the crowds, the noise, and the chaos, to the loneliness, the silence, and the calm. There are barely seven million people living in Laos, and they are very laid back. The cities are rather big villages with few traffic, low buildings, and less people.

On the Mekong’s banks , Luang Prabang has plenty to offer. River cruises, beautiful temples, a night market and daytrips.

The thing we most enjoyed was the river cruise at the sunset in a typical longboat. The temples, a UNESCO World Heritage site, are very peculiar, and we also visited with pleasure the Palace- Museum.

The night market is a deadly trap: thousands of cute things with ridiculous prices. Moreover, it’s possible to stroll around without the hassle.

Okay guys so the thing is that Luang Prabang is an amazing city, but since we’re delayed updating the blog because the Internet doesn’t grow up in the rice fields, and we want to let you know about our rolling adventures, this post is not that motivating.

Luang Prabang is great.
